Running is a skill! In order to improve, you have to treat it as such.
Run Foundations is different from other run programs that tend to focus solely on conditioning and volume. In this program, we look to optimize running efficiency by increasing awareness, mastering drills, improving breathing, stability and integrating into your new running form.
You will learn what optimal form looks like, and more importantly - what it feels like! When you know what it feels like, you will know how to find it, and when you start to lose it. We use drills so you can focus, feel, develop and integrate new movement patterns that lead to a stronger and more effi. The result is an overall improvement in speed and endurance without the wear-and-tear through the usual means of just training harder and adding more mileage.
This program is perfect for those who; are tired of setbacks due to injury; have plateaued; want to improve their recovery between runs; want to improve their running experience.

The first 3-4 weeks are primarily focused on mastering and integrating lower body mechanics. In the latter 3 weeks we begin to integrate upper body and arm mechanics (which are crucially important!) allowing you to really hone in on perfecting your new beautiful and efficient stride.
What really sets this program apart is the focus and integration of functional breathing. Despite what most people think exercise does not improve breathing. Just as a runner with poor mechanics is unlikely to improve running form by just running. The result may be improved fitness, however the poor running mechanics have only been reinforced with repetition. The same reinforcement of poor patterns is also true for your breathing patterns. Which is why exercise induced asthma is more common amongst high level athletes. Taking time to improve your breathing will reduce the stress you put on your body and will have tremendous implications on performance and recovery. It’s also a good feeling when everyone else is huffing and puffing through their mouths, and you are breathing cool as a cucumber breathing through your nose.
